About Half Moon Books
We at Half Moon Books think the publishing trade in this country has done the male readership a great disservice. In its eagerness to churn out more and more Chick-Lit, the industry has turned its back on the male reader. This is a grave mistake, and needs to be addressed. Otherwise, the book industry is going to exclude a whole generation of book buyers. The downtrodden male reader will be lost forever.
So how are Half Moon Books going to reverse this lob-sided bias? By encouraging our writers to be original and daring. With writing that addresses taboo subjects, in an interesting and unfamiliar way. Nothing is sacred. That's why the publishing world hate us: they refuse to acknowledge our existence. Ditto book retailers, who refuse to stock any of our products because we're not part of the cosy publishing cartel.
Which is great. Because that means we can write what we want, not what some accountant in a pin-stripe suit tells us to write.
We take pride in 'breaking' new authors, giving fresh writing a chance to shine. The establishment inform us that our books are too dangerous, too subversive to be let loose on the general public.
